Admittedly, my pursuit of the German language began in the hope of improving my stinted, somewhat embarrassing German diction; "Ach ich fuhls" was never my strongest piece. In sung German, my schwas were always too french, my Ls too Italian, etc... I figured a few semesters might cure me.

Having only studied Italian and Spanish (with the simpler grammatical constructs of the romance languages) German posed a new challenge -  grammatical and phonetic. Soon after i began in 101 i became fond of the new sounds... I loved the way German fit in my mouth, how the germanic speaking space felt.

The German culture is interesting, though, i can't say that i have any passion for studying culture. I haven't changed much in my perspective of Germany... I didn't hold too many stereotypes prior to my first semester. I do hope to study abroad in Vienna for a semester ssssooooooo i should probably stick with it for a while.
